Dr. Vinay Kumar, MBBS, MD, FRCPath
Known to medical students worldwide
as the chief editor of Robbins Pathology and also as an authority in Natural Killer
(NK) Cells, Dr. Vinay Kumar is presently the Donald N. Pritzker Professor and Chairman, Department of Pathology, Biologic Sciences Division and The Pritzker School of Medicne, The University Of Chicago, Chicago, IL, USA.
Born in India in 1944, Dr. Kumar graduated with honors, at the age of 17, from University of Poona. He earned his MBBS in 1967, at the age of 22, from Punjab University Medical College, in Amritsar, where he was named “Best Medical Graduate” for that year, winning the Pfizer Award and the Gold Medal for highest achievement as a medical student. He completed both his PhD in experimental pathology and his residency in anatomic pathology and hematology in 1972 at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, where he was awarded the Khanolkar Prize for outstanding research in pathology.
Author and co-author of many pathology textbooks and teaching aids, Dr. Kumar has published more than 100 original articles in scientific journals, a dozen book chapters, and nearly 20 review articles. He has lectured throughout the U.S. and Europe, served on the editorial boards of several journals, including the Journal of Immunology, and recently completed his term as president of the American Society of Investigative Pathology.

Dr. Ashraf Khan, MBBS, MD, FRCPath
Dr. Ashraf Khan received his medical (MBBS) degree in 1980 from
Jawharlal Nehru Medical College, AMU, Aligarh, India following which he did
3-year post graduate training (MD) in Pathology at the same institution and
then joined as a lecturer in Pathology in 1983. In 1985 Dr. Khan moved to
England where he trained in Histopathology at Lewisham and Guy's Hospital of
the University of London. Dr. Khan migrated to the United States in 1993 to
join as a surgical pathology fellow at University of Massachusetts Medical
Center. He is currently professor of pathology and Director of Surgical Pathology at the University of
Massachusetts Medical School. He is actively involved in the UMASS medical
center and medical school administrative functions serving on the Faculty
Council, Medical School Admissions Committee, Cancer Committee, and Director of
Pathology Quality Assurance among others.
Dr. Khan's clinical interests include Breast and Endocrine pathology. Dr. Khan has published more than 100 original articles, invited review articles, book chapters and abstracts in the field of Endocrine and Breast Pathology. He is the Editor of a textbook on surgical pathology of endocrine tumors being published by Springer publications. Dr. Khan is a Principal Investigator of research grants from the Breast Cancer Research Program of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and US Department of Defense.

Dr. Hasan Rizvi, MBBS, MBA (Cantab), FRCPath
Dr Rizvi trained in pathology in the US and UK and has been a consultant Haematopathologist and Dermatopathologist since February 2007 at Barts Health NHS Trust. He completed his MRCPath in 2006 and was awarded an FRCPath in 2007. He has completed an MBA at University of Cambridge in 2011.
Since 2009, he has been the lead in pathology for undergraduate dental education and an active tutor, lecturer and assessor/examiner at the Barts and the London Medical School.He has a passion for teaching and use of innovation in teaching and has been the lead for developing e-learning at the London Deanery since 2010.He is an examiner for the a Royal College of Pathologists and centre lead examiner at Barts Health where he hosted the final FRCPath exam.

He has been an associate director for post graduate medical and dental education at UCLPartners - the largest academic health science partnership in Europe and the lead provider for education in North East and Central London.He also served as quality assessor for UKAS the national accreditation agency since 2009 and has been workforce lead for the Royal College of Pathologists for London region and Professionalism lead for North Central and East London. He has active research collaborations in both Dermatopathology and Haematopathology and He is principal investigator on a GSK funded project to evaluate bone marrow fibrosis in immune thrombocytopenia in treatment naïve patients.
Dr. Ravi Mehrotra, MD, Ph.D, FRCPath
Prof. Ravi Mehrotra is currently the Director and
Scientist G at the Institute of Cytology and Preventive Oncology (Indian
Council of Medical Research) at Noida. He completed his medical training at the
prestigious Armed Forces Medical College, Pune followed by MD and Ph.D. at the
University of Allahabad and Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists.
He
did his postdoctoral training at various institutes including Johns Hopkins
Medical Center, Baltimore and University of Pennsylvania Medical Center. His
research interests are focused on the early diagnosis and screening of cancer,
especially oral malignancies. He sits on the editorial board of 10
international peer-reviewed medical journals and has published more than 100
papers in his areas of expertise. He is the winner of many prestigious awards
and is also the past President of the Indian Academy of Cytologists. He is a
strong believer in early diagnostic techniques in the field of cancer.
Dr.
Rana Khalid Sherwani is a Professor of Pathology and has served
the Department of Pathology, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College for more than
31years. She completed her medical training at Lady Harding Medical College, New
Delhi in 1974 followed by MD in Pathology from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College
,Aligarh Muslim University in 1980. She did her postdoctoral training in Histopathology
and Cytology from Manchester Royal Infirmary, Manchester Medical School
Manchester, UK. She has been the Organizing Secretory of UP Pathmicon-2005 and
Dermathology-2013.
Her research interests are focused on the early diagnosis
and screening of cervical and other Gynaecological cancers, especially oral
malignancies. She is a reviewer of an international peer-reviewed medical
journal and has published a textbook of transfusion medicine- Basic principles
and newer concepts and more than 110 medical articles various reputed indexed
journals with supervising more than 56 MD and Phd theses. She
has been invited to deliver guest lectures on breast and cervical cancer
screening at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Dhaka, Bangladesh and
in different CME Programmes conducted by various Institutions and Associations.
Dr. Shakeel Akhtar, MD, MIAC
Dr. Shakeel Akhtar works at NMC Hospital, Dubai, UAE as specialist anatomic pathologist. He is a graduate from KG’s medical college, lucknow. Dr. Shakeel passed his MD pathology examination from JN medical college, AMU, Aligarh in 1992. He joined department of pathology, JN medical college, as full fledged faculty member in 1995 and worked as senior lecturer till 2003.
Dr. Shakeel has published scientific papers in national and international journals and presented papers in conferences both at home and abroad. He is particularly interested in cytopathology.

Dr. Jamal A. Khan, MBBS, MD
Dr. Jamal A. Khan is a pioneer in cancer immunotherapy in India,
with over ten years of exclusive clinical experience in dendritic cell therapy.
He is presently developing Optimum Medical Center LLC in Sharjah, UAE, with a
vision to provide dendritic cell based therapy for cancer patients.
Dr. Khan has been a researcher and teaching faculty in Department of Microbiology at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University, from 1997 till 2005. He left his job to pursue research interest in cancer immunology. He set up his clinic in Noida, in 2005 and began to work in cancer immunotherapy, using patient’s own immune cells. 2011.
Currently, he is an active member of the American Society of
Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the American Association of Cancer Research (AACR)
and the Indian Medical Association.

A FAIMER Fellow from CMCL FAIMER Ludhiana he is trained in Pathology(MD) from AMU Aligarh along with Pediatrics(DCh.) and Energo-Cybernetics (Advanced management) .Dr. Bedi has been spearheading many innovative projects in Pathology Medical Informatics and medical Education. Various publications and papers presented by Dr. Sanjay Bedi, have exposed his high degree of interest in minute details of all that he is involved in. Presentations in Medical Informatics technology and solutions,,He was Founder Editor in Chief of Indian Journal of Medical Informatics, Secretary Computerization of IMA Punjab State for last 12 years. and deeply involved in innovative practices in Medical Education especially e-learning in the form of pathoindia.com website since inception. Dr. Bedi has organized and participated in a large number of conferences all over the country.
His current interests involve Pathology Medical Education techniques and introducing Information Technology in Medical Education . Notably for last seven years is meu_india@googlegroups.com which is interconnecting medical teachers all over India for Medical Education Unit purposes . Recently he was nominated to advisory committee of Indian Edition of Robbins Textbook of Pathology and ihuman Project.He has been selected for International Fellowship in Medical Education from FAIMER Foundation(USA) which will complete in 2017, Dr. Sanjay Bedi finds his recreation in mountain climbing, reading and researching new ways to implement computerization in the medical industry.
Dr. Andleeb Abrari
obtained his Medical Graduation and Post-Graduation in
Pathology from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, AMU , in 1995, in 1998
respectively ; he went on to secure the Diplomate in National Board, in
Pathology in 2001, FRCPath I in 2005 and Associateship of RCPath in 2008. He is
an active member of the Pathological Society of Great Britain and Ireland and
the European Society of Pathology, including the Nephropathology working group
of the latter. His sojourn through his chosen specialty has taken him through
several work milieus and responsibilities, including Lecturership at the
Department of Pathology, JNMC and a sequence of Histopathology Consultantships
at Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute, Fortis Hospitals, Ranbaxy / Religare Laboratories
and Max Healthcare Institute ; the last mentioned is where he has been working
for more than five years and is Senior Consultant and Co- Ordinator in
Histopathology at the present.
Despite his foray into the corporate healthcare ethos, he has nearly forty publications, abstracts , posters etcetera to his credit – most, in reputed ,indexed peer reviewed journals. He is continually sought as panelist and Faculty for prestigious academic meets and has recently been chosen for a Lymphoma Research Fellowship.
As far as areas of special interest go, for

Dr. Ruchika K. Goel is presently working as
an Associate Consultant
Histopathology and Quality Manager, Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at
Medanta The Medicity, Gurgaon, India. She has been working at this institute
for 3 1/2 years.
She has received her training in Pathology at Indraprastha Apollo hospitals, New Delhi under the guidance of Dr. Deepshikha Arora and Dr. Sumaid Kaul. Since her early days in Pathology training she developed a keen interest in Breast and Gynae Pathology. She also went for a Visiting fellowship to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical centre, Harvard Medical school under the able guidance of Dr. Stuart J. Schnitt.
